Se trata de una discusión que viene desde 2023 y que tiene en el trasfondo el déficit en el Fondo de Estabilización de Precios de los Combustibles (FEPC).

Este, adscrito al Ministerio de Hacienda, se pensó para cubrir la diferencia del precio internacional de los combustibles. No obstante, en su momento más álgido en 2023, este llegó a un déficit superior a los $30 billones.

Ante esto, el Gobierno de Gustavo Petro inició una serie de aumentos de la gasolina, que inició 2024 con un precio promedio de $15.100 en Colombia. Sin embargo, durante el año pasado no se realizaron aumentos al diésel (ACPM). El promedio del diésel en el país es de $9.065.
Gremios de transportadores alertaron, pese a las declaraciones del Gobierno, que un aumento llevaría a sobrecostos en su trabajo.

Por qué transportadores aceptarían aumento del diésel en Colombia
Este viernes, 5 de abril de 2024, la ATC informó que está dispuesta a respaldar un aumento en los precios del diésel de Colombia.
Pero advirtió que daría su apoyo con condiciones. Principalmente, que “haya un mecanismo público de compensación económica, que los camioneros no asumirán de manera directa estos sobrecostos”.

También, el gremio de transportadores pidió que se garantice que no haya “dilaciones o malas prácticas en los pagos de flete a los camioneros, garantizando los incrementos en estos pagos por insumos asociados a la operación en carretera de los camioneros”.
Así las cosas, se abrió la puerta para que en 2024 aumento del diésel en Colombia.
En una reciente entrevista en Noticias Caracol, Ricardo Roa, presidente de Ecopetrol, aseguró que, durante todo el año, este debería ser entre $2.000 y $3.000 por galón para atender el déficit del FEPC.
