El ICA impulsa formación en uso responsable de plaguicidas para productores en Codazzi

Las capacitaciones, desarrolladas en los centros turísticos El Mulo, Escuela Agua Bonita y La Duda, abordaron temas como la importancia de leer y comprender las etiquetas de los productos, la selección del plaguicida adecuado para cada cultivo, y las medidas de seguridad que deben adoptarse durante su manipulación y aplicación.

En una iniciativa conjunta con diversas entidades, el Instituto Colombiano Agropecuario (ICA), llevó a cabo una serie de capacitaciones sobre el manejo y uso adecuado de plaguicidas en el municipio de Agustín Codazzi, Cesar, beneficiando a más de 83 agricultores y profesionales.

A través del Consejo Territorial de Salud Ambiental (COTSA), el ICA, en su papel de garante de la sanidad agropecuaria y la inocuidad de los alimentos, ha impulsado esta importante iniciativa con el objetivo de reducir los riesgos asociados al uso inadecuado de plaguicidas y promover prácticas agrícolas sostenibles.

Las capacitaciones, desarrolladas en los centros turísticos El Mulo, Escuela Agua Bonita y La Duda, abordaron temas como la importancia de leer y comprender las etiquetas de los productos, la selección del plaguicida adecuado para cada cultivo, y las medidas de seguridad que deben adoptarse durante su manipulación y aplicación.

Martha Isabel Olarte Orjuela, coordinadora del proceso y funcionaria del ICA en Cesar, destacó la importancia de esta iniciativa: “con estas jornadas buscamos fortalecer las capacidades de los agricultores y promover el uso responsable de los plaguicidas, contribuyendo así a la protección de la salud humana y el medio ambiente”.

Estas jornadas se desarrollaron en conjunto con la Gobernación del Cesar, Corpocesar, la Alcaldía de Agustín Codazzi, y productores agrícolas y profesionales del sector, que unieron esfuerzos para llevar a cabo esta iniciativa.
